Present and past work: Catrin has finished her Fellowship: Scientific Writing Ambassador, appointed by the Linnean Society and National Literacy Trust, giving workshops to secondary schools. She has also just completed an Anatomical Society Public Engagement Grant to write more scientific journal articles for young people and Royal Society partnership grant working with a local primary school. Catrin worked at Sky News as a scientific news journalist as part of her British Science Association Media Fellowship. Science for Young People (and those young at heart)
In addition to her popular science books, talks and seminars, Catrin has published scientific papers for young people in the journal 'Frontiers Young Minds'.
The first paper was 'Mending a Broken Heart'. Catrin has just won an Anatomical Society grant to write more papers in this series, promoting scientific research and careers to young people across the world. In 2020 four more papers were published: 'Blood Vessels Under the Microscope' and 'Can toothache cause Heartbreak' and 'Hearts, and the Heartless, in the Animal Kingdom' and 'The Importance of Anatomy'. Several more scientific papers for young people have been written and will be published soon.
